OK I got a bit excitable at this point and wanted to see what the Blitz kit would look like fitted. Bearing in mind I haven't got any of the gaskets, I put some tape on the mating faces and quickly threw it on. I'll need to put the gaskets on for the next step so it'll be coming off, but here's how it's going to look pretty much:-

Hopefully Blitz, one way or another. Just a bit of a mix up at the moment as to why I don't have them, no biggy and it'll be sorted soon enough.

Excellent detail Tony. Do you ever wonder if it would have been easier to pull the engine out, strip and build, then put it all back in again?

After getting the turbo's off, and finally getting a good look at the size of the engine, I'd rather not have to pull it out. But yeah it does seem like it sometimes!

Not really looking for any particular bhp figure, just going to build it up and see what it gets.

It's not sequential though. It is, most definitely, true twin.

One of the best write-ups I've seen Tony, stuff like this is wonderful. Thanks for taking the time to tell the story

Supraaa, AFAIK big twins can only run silmutaneously. You'll need some clever jiggery i.e. the vac system to make it run sequentially. I don't think there's an aftermarket ECU that can handle the job in the absence of the stock hose-happy system. *awaits correction*

Excellent job so far, keep up the good work.
Try and get hold of some "Duck oil". It's much better than wd40 for using on tight bolts.

sorry for the tangent, but how would you compare Duck Oil with PlusGas?
Is it effective for aged, corroded bolts?
